Communities For Compassion
Creating a world that cares, one person at a time
HOW TO START A COMPASSION TEAM IN YOUR AREA
There are people in your community who desperately need your help with simple things that make a big difference.
To start a Compassion Team, e-mail:
Laurie@communitiesforcompassion.org
All volunteers are advised and mentored via e-mail, telephone, and/or meetings.
You may work alone if there are no other volunteers in your area.
The activities you will provide for Care Recipients may include:
- visiting
- housecleaning
- meal preparation
- pet care
- laundry
- yard work
If anyone in your group is certified in home nursing, hospice care, bedside music, or chaplaincy, you may also volunteer those skills.
In certain circumstances when there are no agencies available, or the Care Recipient is turned down by agencies, you may also provide limited transportation, grocery shopping and errands.
