Communities For Compassion
Creating a world that cares, one person at a time
In recognition of the urgent and extreme need of a large
population of disabled, homebound, frail, elderly, terminally ill, and others in our own communities who are living in dire circumstances because their most basic physical needs are not being met, the purpose of Communities for Compassion is to provide practical help with physical needs that are overlooked by agencies.
Specifically, Communities for Compassion creates local and regional teams of volunteers who seek out and assess the needs of homebound and disabled people who do not have adequate help. We then engage local, county, or national/government agencies to provide the help they need, and finally but most importantly, our teams provide whatever services we can that are not met by those agencies. Usually our services consist of housecleaning, cooking, shopping, transportation, pet care, and other simple activities, but may include some nursing or other professional-level services when available.
Communities for Compassion does not provide monetary charity or funding to individuals, but may assist in finding financial assistance through other sources.
